Angela's Blog
A Bit About me

Welcome to my personal weblog! I have many areas of interest as a Christian wife and home schooling mother of 6 girls: writing, poetry, website design, digital photography, a home business (sewing); however, this blog will focus more on the wonderful journey the Lord has brought our family through and what the Lord has shown me in His Holy Word.

I know that my devotionals don't often speak of specifics in our lives, but I want my readers to know that what I write comes most often from what the Lord is doing in our lives, or has done. I don't just repeat words by this preacher or that one. My devotionals are often written through a haze of tears, sometimes in grief, sometimes in peace at God's goodness for what He is doing for our good. At other times, after a flood of tears over my lack of faith in His great plan for us, especially after I've seen Heaven's gates open in another miraculous answer to prayer. What I write is what God shows me through those trials which He brings because of His great goodness as He works out His perfect plan. - Angela.

It is not my desire to hurt anyone by posting these studies. They are very controversial for this day and age, but I am constantly reminded in God's Word that He is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8) and this also includes the matter of modesty. If it was right in "Biblical times", then it's right now. It is my hope that they will be an encouragement and a blessing to all who read them.

In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; 1 Timothy 2:9 (modest apparel means loose and flowing).

Although it is Biblical for a woman towear modest (loose and flowing) garments, it is not a sure sign of salvation, nor is wearing immodest clothes a sure sign of a person being lost. I've met women who wear modest dresses only and are lost, and I've met women who flaunt every bit of flesh they can and profess they are saved. God looks on the heart, but a heart surrendered to the Lord will seek to please Him in every area.

Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

1 Timothy 5:14b "…  give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully."
