Angela's Blog
A Bit About me

Welcome to my personal weblog! I have many areas of interest as a Christian wife and home schooling mother of 6 girls: writing, poetry, website design, digital photography, a home business (sewing); however, this blog will focus more on the wonderful journey the Lord has brought our family through and what the Lord has shown me in His Holy Word.

I know that my devotionals don't often speak of specifics in our lives, but I want my readers to know that what I write comes most often from what the Lord is doing in our lives, or has done. I don't just repeat words by this preacher or that one. My devotionals are often written through a haze of tears, sometimes in grief, sometimes in peace at God's goodness for what He is doing for our good. At other times, after a flood of tears over my lack of faith in His great plan for us, especially after I've seen Heaven's gates open in another miraculous answer to prayer. What I write is what God shows me through those trials which He brings because of His great goodness as He works out His perfect plan. - Angela.

Our Foundation

¶ Except the LORD build the house,
they labour in vain that build it:
except the LORD keep the city,
the watchman waketh but in vain.

Psalms 127:1

¶ For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid,
which is Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 3:11

The Bible teaches clearly that a person can KNOW how to get to heaven! “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” 1John 5:13

Going to heaven is not secured by: being a church member, partaking of Lord’s Supper, doing good deeds, being religious, trying to do your best, being baptized … many have done these things yet have no assurance of getting to heaven. Though these things are taught in the Bible, and have their place in the Christian life, they are not for salvation.

The Bible teaches that to go to heaven we have to deal with the sin problem. We must realize and agree with God regarding the following:

1. The Fact of our sin:

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23

2. The Consequence or Penalty for our sin:

i) Death:

“For the wages of sin is death…” Romans 6:23

ii) Judgment:

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” Hebrews 9:27

“And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.” Revelation 20:15

iii) Hell:

“And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments…” Luke 16: 23

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone…” Revelation 21:8

3. The Payment for sin:

i) Christ’s Substitutionary Death:

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

ii) Christ’s Atoning Blood:

“In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;” Ephesians 1:7

“…the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” 1John 1:7

iii) Christ Resurrection:

“Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.” Roman 6:9

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; v2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. v3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; v4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” 1Corinthians 15:1

4. How to Receive Christ:

“…for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Matthew 9: 13

“I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” Luke 13: 3

“And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:” Acts 17:30

ii) Faith:

“Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” Acts 20:21

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast” Ephesians 2:8

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. V10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. V11 For the scripture saith, whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. V12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. V13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:9-13

“And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? V31 and they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” Acts 16:30

Here and now, why don’t you call on the Lord like millions of others have, “Dear Lord Jesus, I believe you died upon the cross for me and rose again, I ask you now to please forgive me of my sin. I trust you now as my Saviour and to take me to heaven when I die. Thank you Lord for saving me.”

If you could say these words in complete trust and confidence on the Lord to save you as He said, then the Bible says you have eternal life.

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” 1John 5:13

God takes His Word seriously, and so do we!

“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” Galatians 1:8-9

“If this offends you, why? The Bible says:

Great peace have they which love thy lay and NOTHING shall offend them. Psalms 119:165

If you are offended by anything you read, then question as to why. To be offended if someone says something rudely is one thing, but to get angry at the truth is another. I have tried to be diplomatic, but I will not compromise on God’s Word. My prayer is that this page is a blessing to all who read.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; Romans 1:16
