Christmas Without Jesus

Christmas Without Jesus

Christmas without Jesus,
And all that the Saviour hath wrought;
Can you begin to comprehend
Why I just cannot bear the thought?

Christmas without Jesus,
Means more than an empty manger,
Or a wasted trip for wise men,
On a road of untold danger.

Christmas without Jesus,
Means more than a tree with no gifts;
More than no holiday fixings,
Or no extra-overtime shifts.

Christmas without Jesus -
What does it all really mean?
What impact does it have for me,
My life, my hopes and my dreams?

Christmas without Jesus
Means my sin debt, by me, still is borne.
It still has never been paid for,
For His body had never been torn.

Christmas without Jesus
Means Heaven cannot be attained;
We’ve all sinned; there’s no remedy.
Our good works are useless and vain.

Christmas without Jesus
Means an eternity of pain;
No hope for all mankind was brought.
without Christ’s loss, we have no gain.

Christmas without Jesus,
Oh no! It simply cannot be!
But praise the Lord! I know it’s not!
He came to die for you and me!

Christmas with Jesus -
My Saviour’s alive forevermore!
He arose victorious from the grave,
And He has opened Heaven’s door.

Christmas without Jesus-
A fairy tale, an empty show.
For Christ came to pay for our sin -
It’s real! I want the world to know!

Christmas Reminder

With the Christmas season upon us, I just wanted to post some reminders about what it is all about:

Isaiah 9:6-7  For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Matthew 1:21-23  And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Revelation 21:8  But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Romans 6:23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Ephesians 2:8  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Romans 5:8  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Revelation 1:5  ….Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

Acts 20:21  … repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 10:9-10  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Hebrews 12:2  Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Let us NEVER forget that it’s ALL about HIM!

A Christmas Letter

Hope this makes you think as much as it did me. It is written as if it were from the Lord, and I don’t normally deal with stuff like this, but as far as I can see, each point can easily be backed by Scripture. We are not called to social action, we are called as “Ambassadors for Christ.” A few areas have been re-touched for clarity and Scriptural accuracy.

Dear Children,

If you want to celebrate My birth, just get along and love one another.

If it bothers you that the town in which you live doesn’t allow a scene depicting My birth, then just get rid of a couple of Santas and snowmen and put in a small Nativity scene on your own front lawn. If all My followers did that there wouldn’t be any need for such a scene on the town square because there would be many of them all around town.

Stop worrying about the fact that people are calling the tree a holiday tree, instead of a Christmas tree. It was I who made all trees. You can remember Me anytime you see any tree. Decorate a grape vine if you wish: I actually spoke of that one in a teaching, explaining who I am in relation to you and what each of our tasks were.
(If you have forgotten that one, look up John 15:1-8)

If you want to give Me a present in remembrance of My birth here is my wish list. Choose something from it:

1. Instead of writing protest letters objecting to the way My birthday is being celebrated, write letters of love and hope to soldiers away from home. They are terribly afraid and lonely this time of year. I know, they tell Me all the time.

2. Visit someone in a nursing home. You don’t have to know them personally. They just need to know that someone cares about them.

3. Instead of writing George complaining about the wording on the cards his staff sent out this year, why don’t you write and tell him that you’ll be praying for him and his family this year. Then follow up. It will be nice hearing from you again.

4. Instead of giving your children a lot of gifts you can’t afford and they don’t need, spend time with them. Tell them the story of My birth, and why I came to live with you down here. Hold them in your arms and remind them that I love them.

5. Pick someone that has hurt you in the past and forgive him or her.

6. Did you know that someone in your town will attempt to take their own life this season because they feel so alone and hopeless? Since you don’t know who that person is, try giving everyone you meet a warm smile; it could make the difference.

7. Instead of nit picking about what the retailer in your town calls the holiday, be patient with the people who work there. Give them a warm smile and a kind word. Even if they aren’t allowed to wish you a ‘Merry Christmas’ that doesn’t keep you from wishing them one. Then stop shopping there on Sunday. If the store didn’t make so much money on that day they’d close and let their employees spend the day at home with their families

8. If you really want to make a difference, support a missionary who takes My love and Good News to those who have never heard My name.

9. Here’s a good one. There are individuals and whole families in your town who not only will have no ‘Christmas’ tree, but neither will they have any presents to give or receive. If you don’t know someone like that, ask your Pastor. He probably knows someone whom you could not only share some earthly goods with, but also God’s gift of salvation. After all, he can’t take care of everyone.

10. Finally, if you want to make a statement about your belief in and loyalty to Me, then behave like a Christian. Don’t do things in secret that you wouldn’t do in My presence. Let people know by your actions that you are one of mine.

Don’t forget; I am God and can take care of Myself. Just love Me and do what I have told you to do. I’ll take care of all the rest. Check out the list above and get to work; time is short. I’ll help you, but the ball is now in your court. And do have a most blessed Christmas with all those whom you love and remember . . .

I LOVE YOU,

JESUS

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

P.S. - Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; John 8:31

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 13:35

The Words “Merry Christmas”

This is not my material, but I really appreciate it and hope you do too.

The Words “Merry Christmas”

Twas the month before Christmas
When all through our land,
Not a Christian was praying
Nor taking a stand.

Why the Politically Correct Police had taken away,
The reason for Christmas – no one could say.
The children were told by their schools not to sing,
About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.

It might hurt people’s feelings, the teachers would say
December 25th is just a ‘ Holiday ‘.
Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit.
Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!

CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod.
Something was changing, something quite odd!
Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa
In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.

As Targets were hanging their trees upside down
At Lowe’s the word Christmas – was no where to be found.
At K-Mart and Staples and Penny’s and Sears
You won’t hear the word Christmas; it won’t touch your ears.

Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-is-ty
Are words that were used to intimidate me.
Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen
On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton !

At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter
To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.
And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith
Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace.

The true Gift o f Christmas was exchangednd discarded
The reason for the season, stopped before it started.
So as you celebrate ‘Winter Break’ under your ‘Dream Tree’
Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.
Choose your words carefully, choose what you say
Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS, not Happy Holiday !

What Does Christmas Mean to Me?

What Does Christmas Mean to Me?

Forts so grand and snow ball fights,
Plump little men made of snow.
Sledding down hills (oh what a sight),
With cold red faces all aglow.

Lights that sparkle on garlands of pine,
How they twinkle, how they shine!
And glimmering tinsel on the tree,
Hiding presents for you and for me.

Time spent with loved ones so dear,
Singing, gathered ’round the tree,
“Jingle Bells” and “Rudolph the Reindeer” -
Is this what Christmas means to me?

Nay, oh what wonder, Yea, what delight!
As I focus on Christmas love;
How Emmanuel, God with us,
Came down to earth from above.

Christmas is just the beginning,
A necessary part of His plan.
He sent the Saviour, The Lord and King,
To die for fallen man.

To die, but the story does not end there,
On that sorrowful hill called Mount Calvary.
Three days later, He arose! My sin’s paid for!
The gift of God – salvation – is full and free.

Jesus’ birth, His life, and yea, His death,
Whosoever will may come is His plea!
My soul’s redemption by His great sacrifice -
This is what Christmas means to me.
