Scientists Who Believe the Bible

In April 2009, Terry Mortenson of the Creation Museum in America, said: “There are literally thousands of scientists around the world that believe the Bible. There is an organization in the United States with 700 scientists who have a Masters or Ph.D. in the hard sciences.

High Schools, colleges, and universities typically teach only one theory of origins, that being evolution, and the students are not presented with a creationist viewpoint. In fact, they are often given the idea that no true scientist today is a creationist. When the National Academy of Sciences in America published an educational tool in 1998 entitled Teaching about Evolution and the Nature of Science, they posed this question, “Don’t many scientists reject evolution?? The answer was, “No; the scientific consensus around evolution is overwhelming.?

Richard Dawkins, a brash atheist and anti-creationist, says in his recent book The Greatest Show in Earth, “Evolution is a fact. Beyond reasonable doubt, beyond serious doubt, beyond sane, informed, intelligent doubt, beyond doubt evolution is a fact. … Evolution is a fact, and [my] book will demonstrate it. No reputable scientist disputes it, and no unbiased reader will close the book doubting it.?

According to Dawkins, if you reject evolution, you are unintelligent and your sanity should be questioned, and he proclaims that no reputable scientist disputes it.

In fact, modern science was invented by men who believed in divine creation. In his book Refuting Evolution, Jonathan Sarfati, who has a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand, and is a national chess champion, says:

“It is fallacious to claim, as many evolutionists do, that believing in miracles means that laboratory science would be impossible. In fact, most branches of modern science were founded by believers in the Bible’s account of creation.?

Consider some samples:

Physics — Newton, Faraday, Maxwell, Kelvin, Joule
Chemistry – Boyle, Dalton, Ramsay
Biology – Ray, Linnaeus, Mendel, Pasteur, Virchow, Agassiz
Geology – Steno, Woodward, Brewster, Buckland, Cuvier
Astronomy – Copernicus, Galileo, Kepler, Herschel, Maunder
Mathematics – Pascal, Leibniz, Euler

In 1979, Science Digest reported that “scientists who utterly reject Evolution may be one of our fastest-growing controversial minorities,? and stated that, “Many of the scientists supporting this position hold impressive credentials in science? (Larry Hatfield, “Educators Against Darwin,? Science Digest Special, Winter 1979, pp. 94-96).

Dr. Sarfati continues:

“Even today, many scientists reject evolution. The Creation Ministries International staff scientists have published many scientific papers in their own fields. Dr. Russell Humphreys, a nuclear physicist working with Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico, has had over 20 articles published in physics journals, while Dr. John Baumgardner’s catastrophic plate tectonics theory was reported in Nature magazine. Dr. Edward Boudreaux of the University of New Orleans has published 26 articles and four books in physical chemistry. Dr. Maciej Giertych, head of the Department of Genetics at the Institute of Dendrology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, has published 90 papers in scientific journals. Dr. Raymond Jones was described as one of Australia’s top scientists for his discoveries about the legume Leucaena and bacterial symbiosis with grazing animals, worth millions of dollars per year to Australia. Dr. Brian Stone has won a record number of awa rds for excellence in engineering teaching at Australian universities? (Jonathan Sarfati, Refuting Evolution, 2007, pp. 26-28).

I guess Dawkins forgot about those scientists.

The man behind the Apollo moon mission, rocket scientist Wernher von Braun, believed that God created the world.

Duane Gish has a Ph.D. in biochemistry and worked for many years in pharmaceutical research at Cornell University, the University of California, and the Upjohn Company. “As a biochemist, he has synthesized peptides, compounds intermediate between amino acids and proteins. He has been co-author of a number of outstanding publications in peptide chemistry.? Gish lists the following scientists who reject evolution and believe in creationism. Let’s see if any of them might be considered “reputable.?

“While it is true that creationists among scientists definitely constitute a minority, there are many creation scientists, and their number is growing. Among these may be numbered such well-established scientists as the late Dr. W. R. Thompson, world-famous biologist and former Director of the Commonwealth Institute of Biological Control of Canada; Dr. Melvin A. Cook, winner of the 1968 E. G. Murphee Award in Industrial and Engineering Chemistry from the American Chemical Society and also winner of the Nobel Nitro Award, now president of the Ireco Chemical Company, Salt Lake City; Dr. Henry M. Morris, for thirteen years Professor of Hydraulic Engineering and Head of the Civil Engineering Department of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and University, one of the largest in the U.S. Dr. Walter Lammerts, geneticist and famous plant breeder, the late Dr. Frank Marsh, Professor of Biology at Andrews University until his retirement; the late Dr. J.J. Duyvene De Wit, Professor of Zoology at the University of the Orange Free State, South Africa, at the time of his death; Dr. Thomas G. Barnes, Professor Emeritus of Physics at the University of Texas at El Paso; Dr. Dmitri Kouznetsov, M.D., Ph.D., D.Sc., winner of the Komosmol Lenin Prize in 1983 as one of the two most promising young scientists in the Soviet Union, and winner of the Council of Ministries Prize of the USSR in 1986 for his research in biochemistry? (Evolution: The Fossils Still Say No, 1995, pp. 13, 14).

A.E. Wilder-Smith (1915-1995), who defended creationism against evolution in his many books, had three Ph.D.s, one in physical organic chemistry from Reading University, England, one in pharmacology from the University of Geneva, and one in pharmacological sciences from ETH, a senior university in Zurich, Switzerland. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a NATO three-star general, Dr. Wilder-Smith was an expert on chemotherapy, pharmacology, organic chemistry, and biochemistry.

Raymond Damadian, M.D., biophysicist, is the recipient of the Lemelson-MIT Achievement Award as “the man who invented the MRI scanner.? In 1988, he was awarded the National Medal of Technology, America’s highest award for applied science, and a year later, he was inducted into the Inventors Hall of Fame, an honor he shares with Thomas Edison, Samuel Morse, and the Wright Brothers. The first MRI scanner that Dr. Damadian and his colleagues built in 1977 resides at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. Damadian is a Bible-believing Christian and attends a Baptist church in Long Island, New York. Dr. Damadian has stated that “the highest purpose a man can find for his life is to serve the will of God.?

Richard Lumsden (1938-97), Ph.D., converted from Darwinian atheist to Bible-believing Christian at the apex of his professional career when, challenged by one of his students, he decided to check out the evidence for himself. A professor of parisitology and cell biology, he was dean of the graduate school at Tulane University. He trained 30 Ph.D.s., published hundreds of scholarly papers, and was the winner of the highest award for parasitology.

Lee Spetner, author of “Not By Chance: Shattering the Modern Theory of Evolution,? has a Ph.D. in physics from MIT. He was a researcher with John Hopkins University from 1951-1970.

James Allan has a Ph.D. in genetics from the University of Edinburgh and was a senior lecturer in genetics at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa. He is an international consultant in dairy cattle breeding. The testimony of his Christian faith was published in the book “In Six Days: Why Fifty Scientists Choose to Believe in Creation.?

Jerry Bergman, co-author of the book Persuaded by the Evidence, has five masters degrees and two Ph.D.s, one in human biology and another in measurement and evaluation. He had a 4.0 grade point average for both Ph.D.s and close to a 4.0 for all five of his masters degrees.

The Creation Research Society membership consists of more than 600 men and women who hold advanced degrees and are committed to biblical creationism.

Frank Marsh has a Ph.D. in biology and is emeritus Professor of Biology at Andrews University. He is the author of “Variation and Fixity in Nature: The Meaning of Diversity and Discontinuity in the World of Living Things, and Their Bearing on Creation and Evolution.?

Joseph Mastropaolo, who has a Ph.D. in kinesiology from the University of Iowa, has taught biomechanics and physiology at the University of Chicago and California State University. He holds the patent for crew conditioning for extended manned space missions. He is adjunct faculty at the Institute for Creation Research.

The speaking staff of Answers in Genesis includes 10 men and women who have earned doctorates. David DeWitt has a Ph.D. in neuroscience. Donald DeYoung has a Ph.D. in physics. Jason Lisle has a Ph.D. in astrophysics. David Menton has a Ph.D. in cell biology from Brown University. Tommy Mitchell has an M.D. from Vanderbilt University. Terry Mortenson has a Ph.D. in the history of geology. Gary Parker has a doctorate in education in biology/geology. Georgia Purdom has a Ph.D. in molecular genetics. Andrew Snelling has a Ph.D. in geology from the University of Sydney.

It is in Korea, with over 2,500 Bible-believing scientists, over 250, the last I heard, with Ph.Ds.?

Of course, even if NO scientist disputed evolution, does not mean it is correct. The Bible says, “let God be true, but every man a liar? (Romans 3:4), and Jesus said, “I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes? (Matthew 11:25).

The Blessings of a Humble Heart

Like most children, our youngest Carolyn, can be a real cutie and quite the little stinker as well. She gets the cutest expressions, especially when her father or I am teasing her. However, as we are reminded daily, she is a sinner in need of the salvation the Lord has provided us.

A few weeks ago, as siblings sometimes do, she was trying to get another sister in trouble by lying to me about a situation. When the truth was found out, I quoted this verse:

“A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it…” Proverbs 26:28

and explained that by lying to Mommy she was saying she hated me. The precious dear broke down and cried so hard.

“I don’t want to hate you!” she cried.

“I know, but that is what the Bible says,” I replied.

I’m so thankful we have such a good relationship, for since then, she has tried so very hard not to lie.  It has truly been a blessing to my heart to see how humbly she submitted herself to God’s Word.

I began to think about my relationship with my Lord. When I read His Word, is my heart humble and willing to submit like our daughter? Am I willing to quickly change the path I’m on if the Lord shows me it’s wrong? I wish I could say that I always line up with His Word, but to my shame, I don’t always line up right away or perfectly nor is my heart as tender when I do sin.

I want to strive to be like this little child.

10 Minutes or Less

I really didn’t know what to title this one, but I know what I want to convey: Our God IS a prayer answering God!

Yesterday, it became obvious that our home sewing business needed a secondary industrial, straight-stitch, walking foot sewing machine (similar to JUKI LU-1508N). I had been struggling with this for about a year, but really didn’t want to shell out the money for it.  However, with the increase in volume of work that specifically needs an industrial machine, I could not keep up by myself. Neither could I take time away from the one industrial to let one of our girls practice to get good at it to be able to help and then sew at the same time. Hence the need for a secondary machine.  A new one is $3000, and a used is $1500-$2000, but used ones are VERY hard to find as people hold onto them .

So, on with the story.

On Monday, July 27th, I called my regular industrial sewing machine store in Vancouver, but they didn’t have any used ones. Inf fact, the machine I have was the ONLY used they have ever had. Hmmm….this was not looking good. I told him I really couldn’t shell out $3000 right now, but that I would think about it and get back to him before week’s end. Since he is a Christian, I also asked him to pray that they would get a used one, or I would find one here.

When I got off the phone, I got down on my knees and prayed. I told the Lord that I felt we needed another machine, but that He really knew if we did, and just like everything else, providing a used machine for under $2000 was not beyond Him. As I prayed, the Lord impressed upon me to call my sewing machine repair man, Hector,  so I did. I had a few other things to ask Hector about, so did that first, then said I was looking for another machine like my Juki, or similar, and did he know of anyone who has one.

“Yes,” he answered, “I have one close to it here.”

I was dumbfounded! “For heavy materials?”

“Yes.”

“Walking foot?”

“Yes.”

“How much?”

“$1200″

Praise the Lord!!!! I was extatic!

I tried the machine that night and it worked fine, so it came home with us. Cynthia has since used it enough to get proficient and is now helping me.

As I said, our Lord is a prayer answering God, and yes, sometimes in 10 minutes or less!

A Tale of Seven Braces – Part IV

This is a continuation of “A Tale of Seven Braces“ (a MUST read!) and “Update on Lowell’s brace” and “A Tale of Seven Braces – Part III“.

Here we go again. Three weeks to the day Lowell got the brace back, a rivet broke in the ankle pivot point on the foot orthosis. This orthosis is a huge walking help for him as he is not able to raise his toes, and this orthosis keeps his toes slightly elevated so he doesn’t catch his toes and trip as he walks.

The ridiculous part of this, is that when he last sent the brace in with the snapped knee hinge, they were also supposed to replace the rivets as they were loose. However, rather than drill them out and put new ones in, they just mashed them a bit. Not a good idea period, but especially when the rivets are only made out of copper! They should be stainless steel. (Head banging on wall…)

So, I dropped it off yesterday to the brace lady in town (who is really choked at the manufaturer) and she will most likely replace the rivets so Lowell can get his brace back ASAP.

Forsaken Roots

Did you know that 52 of the 56 signers of The Declaration of Independence were orthodox, deeply committed Christians? The other four all believed in the Bible as the divine truth, the God of scripture, and His personal intervention.

Immediately after creating the Declaration of Independence, the Continental Congress voted to purchase and import 20,000 copies of scripture for the people of this nation.

Patrick Henry, who is called the firebrand of the American Revolution, is still remembered for his words, “Give me liberty or give me death.” But in current textbooks the context of these words is deleted. Here is what he said: “An appeal to arms and the God of hosts is all that is left us. But we shall not fight our battle alone. There is a just God that presides over the destinies of nations. The battle sir, is not of the strong alone. Is life so dear or peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it almighty God. I know not what course others may take, but as for me, give me liberty, or give me death.”

These sentences have now been erased from our textbooks.

Was Patrick Henry a Christian? These are the words he wrote shortly before his death: “I have disposed of all my property to my family. There is one thing more I wish I could give to them, and that is the Christian religion. If they had that and I had not given them one cent, they would be rich. If they have not that, and I had given them the world, they would be poor.”

Consider these words that Thomas Jefferson wrote on the front of his well- worn Bible: “I am a Christian, that is to say a disciple of the doctrines of Jesus. I have little doubt that our whole country will soon be rallied to the unity of our Creator and, I hope, to the pure doctrine of Jesus also.”

Consider these words from George Washington, the Father of our Nation, in his farewell speech on September 19, 1796:

“It is impossible to govern the world without God and the Bible. Of all the dispositions and habits that lead to political prosperity, our religion and morality are the indispensable supporters. Let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Reason and experience both forbid us to expect that our national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.”

Was George Washington a Christian? Consider these words from his personal prayer book: “Oh, eternal and everlasting God, direct my thoughts, words and work. Wash away my sins in the immaculate blood of the lamb and purge my heart by the Holy Spirit. Daily, frame me more and more in the likeness of thy son, Jesus Christ, that living in thy fear, and dying in thy favor, I may in thy appointed time obtain the resurrection of the justified unto eternal life. Bless, O Lord, the whole race of mankind and let the world be filled with the knowledge of thy son, Jesus Christ.”

Consider these words by John Adams, our second president, who also served as chairman of the American Bible Society.

In an address to military leaders he said, “We have no government armed with the power capable of contending with human passions, unbridled by morality and true religion. Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

How about our first   Court Justice, John Jay?

He stated that when we select our national leaders, if we are to preserve our Nation, we must select Christians. “Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers and it is the duty as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian Nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.”

John Quincy Adams, son of John Adams, was the sixth U.S. President.

He was also the chairman of the American Bible Society, which he considered his highest and most important role. On July 4, 1821, President Adams said, “The highest glory of the American Revolution was this: it connected in one indissoluble bond the principles of civil government with the principles of Christianity.”

Calvin Coolidge, our 30th President of the United States reaffirmed this truth when he wrote, “The foundations of our society and our government rest so much on the teachings of the Bible that it would be difficult to support them if faith in these teachings would cease to be practically universal in our country.”

In 1782, the United States Congress voted this resolution: “The congressof the United States recommends and approves the Holy Bible for use in all schools.”

William Holmes McGuffey is the author of the McGuffey Reader, which was used for over 100 years in our public schools with over 125 million copies sold until it was stopped in 1963. President Lincoln called him the “Schoolmaster of the Nation.”

Listen to these words of Mr. McGuffey: “The Christian religion is the religion of our country. From it are derived our notions on character of God, on the great moral Governor of the universe. On its doctrines are founded the peculiarities of our free institutions. From no source has the author drawn more conspicuously than from the sacred Scriptures. From all these extracts from the Bible I make no apology.”

Of the first 108 universities founded in America, 106 were distinctly Christian, including the first.

Harvard University, chartered in 1636. In the original Harvard Student Handbook rule number 1 was that students seeking entrance must know Latin and Greek so that they could study the scriptures:

“Let every student be plainly instructed and earnestly pressed to consider well, the main end of his life and studies is, to know God and Jesus Christ, which is eternal life, John 17:3; and therefore to lay Jesus Christ as the only foundation of all sound knowledge and learning. And seeing the Lord only giveth wisdom, let everyone seriously set himself by prayer in secret to seek it of him (Proverbs 2:3).”

For over 100 years, more than 50% of all Harvard graduates were pastors!

It is clear from history that the Bible and the Christian faith, were foundational in our educational and judicial system. However in 1947, there was a radical change of direction in the Supreme Court.

It required ignoring every precedent of Supreme Court ruling for the past 160 years. The Supreme Court ruled in a limited way to affirm a wall of separation between church and state in the public classroom.

In the coming years, this led to removing prayer from public schools in 1962.

Here is the prayer that was banished:

“Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependence on Thee. We beg Thy blessings upon us and our parents and our teachers and our country.

Amen.”

In 1963, the Supreme Court ruled that Bible reading was outlawed as unconstitutional in the public school system. The court offered this justification: “If portions of the New Testament were read without explanation, they could and have been psychologically harmful to children.”

Bible reading in public schools was now unconstitutional , though the Bible was quoted 94 percent of the time by those who wrote our constitution and shaped our Nation and its system of education and justice and government.

In 1965, the Courts denied as unconstitutional the rights of a student in the public school cafeteria to bow his head and pray audibly for his food.

In 1980, Stone vs. Graham outlawed the Ten Commandments in our public schools.

The Supreme Court said this: “If the posted copies of the Ten Commandments were to have any effect at all, it would be to induce school children to read them. And if they read them, meditated upon them, and perhaps venerated and observed them, this is not a permissible objective.”

Is it not a permissible objective to allow our children to follow the moral principles of the Ten Commandments?

James Madison, the primary author of the Constitution of the United States, said this: “We have staked the whole future of our new nation, not upon the power of government; far from it. We have staked the future of all our political constitutions upon the capacity of each of ourselves to govern ourselves according to the moral principles of the Ten Commandments.”

Today we are asking God to bless America. But how can He bless a Nation that has departed so far from Him?

A Tale of Seven Braces – Part III

This is a continuation of “A Tale of Seven Braces“ (a MUST read!) and “Update on Lowell’s brace“.

So here we are working with brace #7 still. It has been sent back twice for repairs…This last time, he actually snapped a knee hinge in half. It only took them about 3 weeks to get it back this time, versus the 6 on the first fix. He was able to wear his “boat anchor”, but it was modified to make it lighter. It is still heavier than the new one, but works not too bad.

We were hoping the manufacturer would swap out the hings for better ones, but not so. Oh well, after it gets sent back every six months or so, they’ll get the hint that they are not dealing with a non-active individual…LOL

Praise the Lord there is a lifetime warranty on this one!

The Greatest Honour

The Greatest Honour

Before I get into this devotional, I want to make it clear that our family does not follow most of what is on the TV. Besides an occasional history show and well screened movie, we usually only watch conservative commentators, reporters, etc.  The following thought came to me as I heard the tail end of a news report about a contestant of a very popular secular British TV show, Britain’s Got Talent. I guess it is the British equivalent of American Idol (another show we avoid.) It was the voice of Susan Boyle that stunned me into following her story.

Susan Boyle was basically a nobody. She is past middle-age, worked in her church, but was currently unemployed, and as I found out later has a learning disability due to oxygen deprivation during birth. She is not particularly pretty, but has a grandmotherly quality about her. She is someone you would easily pass by on the street without even noticing her. Please understand, I am NOT being critical, but rather making the observation that she is just the “average Jane”.

As she walked on stage and spoke of her ambitions of becoming famous as a singer, the audience laughed her to scorn while the judges tried not to snicker. But when she opened her mouth to sing, out came what I consider to be one of the most beautiful voices I’ve ever heard! The audience and judges obviously held a similar view as the applause and chears roared. She won that competition and  the “hearts of the world” and had an album deal signed within a few weeks. She performed for the Britain’s Got Talent grand final, which she lost.

One of the honours she would have gotten upon winning the final contest was to sing before the Queen of England. For Americans, that would be like singing before the President, or Canadians – the Prime Minister. Now that’s quite an honour, I thought, but when I realized the following I was humbled and awed.

As children of God, we realize we really are no one special: nobodys. Just like Susan ,we have done nothing worthy to stand before a monarch, yet we have the highest honour and priviledge of singing for and speaking with and about the King of kings and Lord of lords any time! We have complete unfettered access to The Mighty God of all creation day and night, any moment of the day!  We can sing for him, and no matter how poor our voice sounds, He is ALWAYS pleased and to hear from a humble heart.

We “Get to” come before Him!

Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. Psalms 95:2

Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands: Ps 66:1

Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob. Ps 81:1

O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Ps 95:1

Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. Ps 95:2

Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise. Ps 98:4

With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the LORD, the King. Ps 98:6

A Psalm of praise. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Ps 100:1

Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious. Ps 66:2

Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day. Ps 71:8

The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Ps 34:18

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. Ps 51:17

LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear: Psalms 10:17

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

I don’t know if Susan Boyle can claim that great honour, and that grieves me greatly. She was not doing well emotionally before the final and had an “emotional breakdown” after and had to be hospitalized for possibly several weeks to recover. I kept thinking, what if she dies? Where will she go?

If you are a born again child of God, won’t you join me in praying for Susan that she might gain the highest honour of all: having the honour and privilege to humbly stand before the King of kings and Lord of lords as His child.

He that Goeth forth and Weepeth…

I have read Psalm 126 yearly for the last 15 years, but it was only this morning that I realized that the order of events are actually reversed.

Psalms 126:1-6 A Song of degrees. When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. 2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, 3 The LORD hath done great things for them. The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. 4 Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south. 5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. 6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

In Ps. 126:5-6 the psalmist is saying that while they were in captivity, they sowed in tears. Now that the Lord turned again thee captivity of Zion (126:1) they were reaping joy.

There’s several applications for people today:1

1. The Lost: Those whithout Christ are kept captive by the devil.

And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. 2 Timothy 2:26

And it is only through a humble heart filled with repentance and faith that they can be set free.

Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. Acts 20:21

2. Christians:

A) Everyday life: Just like the children of Israel were in physical captivity, Christians can be in captivity spiritually. The only way to have our captivity turned is through a humble heart and repentance towards the Lord.

Ps. 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

B) Soulwinners: Likewise, for the soulwinner, the only way to reach the lost is to show them that we really do care. We MUST go forward with a weaping heart, and sometimes with tears!

If the child of God does not go soulwinning with a heart full of concern for souls, how will the lost world even consider what we are saying. The words will be as “sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.”1Cor. 13:1We MUST go forward with a weaping heart, and sometimes with tears!

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 1 Corinthians 13:1

In other words, it will just be a lot of confusing noise that has no application to the heart.
