Forsaken Roots
Did you know that 52 of the 56 signers of The Declaration of Independence were orthodox, deeply committed Christians? The other four all believed in the Bible as the divine truth, the God of scripture, and His personal intervention.

Before I get into this devotional, I want to make it clear that our family does not follow most of what is on the TV. Besides an occasional history show and well screened movie, we usually only watch conservative commentators, reporters, etc. The following thought came to me as I heard the tail end of a news report about a contestant of a very popular secular British TV show, Britain’s Got Talent. I guess it is the British equivalent of American Idol (another show we avoid.) It was the voice of Susan Boyle that stunned me into following her story.
He that Goeth forth and Weepeth…
I have read Psalm 126 yearly for the last 15 years, but it was only this morning that I realized that the order of events are actually reversed.
Psalms 126:1-6 A Song of degrees. When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. 2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, 3 The LORD hath done great things for them. The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. 4 Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south. 5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. 6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

WordPress Themes
Hello! This website uses the WordPress blog system for which I have created many themes for you to use in your own WordPress blog. You can “test drive” themes on this blog by picking one in the “Theme Switcher” or you can also dowload them via the “Download Themes” option under the WordPress Themes tab on the menubar. If you want to use any of my templates, please read the Terms of Use.
New Theme for My Blog
Just thougth I’d try out the new theme I created with a WordPress theme maker program called Artisteer
It has really helped me easily make themes by picking colors, layout, just about everything, and it has been really easy to learn to use.
